Question: Hi,
On my right thigh I have a very large red bump that appears to have a large pink ring around it. The bump is very warm, tender and painful to touch. The pink ring around it means it is not lyme disease because there is no gap of clear skin between that and the red bump. what could this be

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
The lesion you have developed is nothing much simple furuncle, a bacterial skin infection.
I would suggest you a week long course of oral antibiotics like cefadroxyl 500 mg twice a day along with oral analgesics like diclofenac.
Apply antibiotic cream like Mupirocin cream thrice a day over lesion.
Warm compresses will additionally provide soothing relief.
Avoid scratching or picking of lesion.
I am sure you will be fine in just few days.
