Suggest Treatment For Painful On Tail Bone After Falling
Question: My Ederly mother fell on the 27th of April. I did not see how she fell. But about two hours later across her lower back / tail bone was swelled up all the way across or corse I took her to the ER she had an X-ray done with no broken bones thank the lord. Today being the 13th I took her back to the doctor because she still has a softball size knot at the tail bone lower back center. Doctor said its a hematoma. It takes time to heal ok I get that. My mother is 83 she has Parkinson / Alzheimers I'm her daughter / caregiver for the last eight years. I just Need to know what to have her do while this thing heals. I tell her lay down and rest maybe ice. I'm not sure can you help. Of corse we have pain pill for the pain but with her diseases I have to be careful because too much messes with her mind.
Brief Answer:
Rest and ice is good, use heparine cream/gel or ointment also
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
a hematoma can take 4-6 week to get resorbed. Ice and rest is just the right thing. One more medication can make it heal faster, which is heparine cream/gel or ointment. Other than that, be reassured that the body heals it itself by resorbing it slowly.
Please discuss this with your local doc if he can perscribe it or if it is available otc in your country.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
