Suggest Treatment For Painful Shingles In Vaginal Area

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Feb 2016
Question: I have shingles in my vaginal area on the left side. Very painful and unable to get much sleep. I have been on medication for 18 days and not much better, also a gel to help with pain, again not much relief. Is there any other non prescrip cream I can get to help with this? I have been taking epson salt baths twice a day. I can't sleep more that 2 or 3 hours at a time. I also have pain meds which helps some but have been taking them for 2 weeks and don't like it. I am scared they will get on the inside. What more ca n I do?

Brief Answer:
You can take pain killer for the same.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
In my opinion you should consult a Gynecologist again and get yourself examined again.
If infection is spreading you should take antibiotics along with antiviral drugs.
If you are having such unberable pain then gabapentine and TCAD( both are prescription drugs and can only be taken under supervision) can be taken.
Steroid creams are also be given but use is very controversial.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
Regards
