Suggest Treatment For Painfully Chapped Upper Lips

Question: Hello. My upper lip is painfully chapped and there is a blackish/brownish lip at the top. It hurts to eat, drink, smile, etc. I went skiing on the 31st and (so I've heard), so I'm hoping that is the source behind the chapped lips. That being said, I don't see any images on google that look similar to mine.
Are my chapped lips a result of the cold or something else? When is it appropriate to "scrub" off the dead skin? Do you have any recommendations for fast relief?
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Caused by cold temperatures!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I have taken a look at the picture and it is suggestive of cold related injury. The chapped skin is dead and would give way. I advise that you don't scrub off. Apply lip balm/Vaseline ointments to lubricate and allow for spontaneous sloughing off. This would be the best approach. Also, take Tylenol for pain control. I expect a marked improvement within a week. Please, note the extremely cold temperatures are not good for the skin. Always make room for enough protection of all exposed body parts.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
