Suggest Treatment For Pancreatic Cyst
Question: Dear Doctor,
My husband has recently undergone a CT scan. It was ordered by the doctor that treated him actually for a viral infection. He had found in my husband's chest X-ray some darker region and hence ordered for a CT scan. The lungs are reported all normal however, through an incidental finding, they have spotted a cyst on the pancreas. I am attaching the report in this email for your review.
The doctor suggested for my husband to do a repeat scan next year just to see how the cyst is doing.
A second opinion from your side would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Abagtha (wife)

Brief Answer:
EUS is recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hi Abagtha
I read carefully your husband Ct report and I understood your concerns.
If I were your treating doctor I would recommend to evaluate the nature of pancreatic tail cyst.
So the best diagnostic procedure that I would recommend is EUS = endoscopic ultrasound. It will use a scope entering from esophagus to the stomach, and with FNA ( fine needle aspiration) the doctor can take biopsy of the pancreatic cyst.
Please discuss that with your treating doctor.
Wishing you all the best.
