Question: Hello Doctor ,

Warm Greetings!!!

This is XXXXXXX I am aged 25 and working as IT Professional.

I had underwent a minor operation in the face to clear a Wound developed just under the eye during my childhood days ( 17 years back ).

Combined this with natural Under eye darkness is appearing as a Black layer under my eye on either sides still.

Please let me know if this Scar/under eye darkness can be cleared completely.

Also , please suggest some medications to maintain/recover from the same. Let me know if this requires one to one direct consultation before suggestion as well so that I can go with that accordingly.

Thanks in Advance ,

Brief Answer:
Need to take long term treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have seen the attached pictures .
You seem to have developed peri orbital pigmentation or dark circles .
I would like to know if you have recently got a hemoglobin assessment done since anemia is a common cause for the same .If recently not done ,get a hemoglobin assessment and a thyroid profile done .
Other causes can be genetic ,familial ,lack of sleep ,stress or hormonal .
Since the area around the eyes is very sensitive,so very strong lightening agents cannot be given . We will start treatment with milder agents and see how the skin reacts .
Start application of kojic acid cream over the area around the eyes twice daily . Gently massage it around the eyes .
Use a medicated sunscreen with spf more than 26 regularly before going out in the sun .Apply it all over the face atleast thirty minutes before going out and re apply every three hourly.
Take oral vitamin c tablets 500 mg once daily .
Eat lots of citrus fruits and salads .
Follow the above regimen for atleast six weeks and then follow up with a dermatologist or here on this forum .

Hope it helps
