Suggest Treatment For Pericarditis And Lightheadedness
Suggestive of peripheral vertigo.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms. They are mostly suggestive of peripheral vertigo, which usually occurs due to a problem in ear. Symptoms may include dizziness, lightheadedness or giddiness, which are made worse with head or neck movements.
In view of past history of pericarditis, we also need to exclude a low cardiac output, or poor pumping of blood from heart. This can be assessed by doing an echocardiogram.
For relief of symptoms, you can take betahistine tablets. If there is no improvement despite this, an MRI scan of brain may be done, as CT scan of head may not pick up minor problems of brain such as ischemia (lack of blood flow to brain).
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
