Suggest Treatment For Periosteal Reaction On Medial Distal Humerus

Question: I am concerned about a small peristeal reaction on my medial distal humerus.
It is clear on plain film, but the mri showed nothing but a ganglion cyst on the opposite side of the joint. That area of the cyst is painful, burning like pain. However the Dr. told me not to worry about the area of bone cortex that is disrupted. i AM GETTING ANOTHER OPINION this week. What should they be looking for? YYYY@YYYY

From your description and MRI finding it seems to be intraosseous ganglion cyst distal humerus.
As it is benign lesion , you need not to worry too much. Curettage and bone grafting of the lesion results in a cure. There is no any harm to get a second opinion.

Could something distally be causing the periosteal reaction?

I am going to have the ganglion removed.

Would you recommend surgical resection and biopsy?

or Aspiration?

IF aspiration, can they tell what it is definitively from that procedure?

The ganglion is a separate issue, and is going to be removed.
