Question: HELLO DOC,
I M BEING DIGONISED WITH OCD AND PHOBIA SINCE LAST 3 YEARS I AM ON MEDICATION.
THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN THE YEAR 2012 ONCE I WAS ON A HIGH FOOTFALL AREA IN ABROAD WHERE I WAS POKED WITH A NEEDLE WHICH I THOUGHT THAT I HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH HIV AS A NEEDLE POKE.
THINGS WAS THERE IN MY MIND FOR TILL 2014 BUT NEVER THOUGHT TO TEST FOR HIV BUT IN FEB 2014 I HAD FEVER FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND THERE WAS A HEAVY WEIGHT LOSS AFTER THAT I GOT PANIC AND HAD CONSULTED A PSYCATRIST HERE AFTER THAT I WAS ON
DAXID 100 FOR 4-5 MONTHS IN MORNING
RECITA FORTE IN NIGHT
I PERSONELLY TRIED TO MAKE UP MY MIND AND THERE AFTER READ BOOKS ON CBT AND HAD EVEN GONE FOR TEST 3 TO 4 TIMES WHICH WAS NEGATIVE
I ALSO USE TO CHECK MY WEIGHT AT REGULAR INTERVALS.
THEREAFTER I WAS ON DAXID 25 FOR 1 YRS AND RECITA FORTE IN NIGHT FOR ONE YEAR
SINCE 8 MONTHS AS I THINK MY SEROTININ LEVEL WAS OK AS I STUDY A LOT ON NET I TOOK ONLY HALF OF RECITA FORTE.
BUT LAST WEEK I WAS IN ABROAD AGAIN THERE WAS A SCRACH IN MY FINGURE WHICH I UNDERSTAND MAY NOT BE A NEEDLE BUT HALLUCINATION IS THERE IN MIND THEREFORE I WENT TO MY DOC HE SAID ME TO CONTINUE DAXID 25 IN MORNING AND RECITA FORTE IN NIGHT
SIR BUT NOW FOR LAST 2 DAYS I M ON DAXID 50 IN MORNING AND RECITA FORTE IN NIGHT.
SIR IS REALLY MY SEROTININ LEVEL IS GONE DONE OR SHALL I WILL BE LIKE IN HULLACINATION LIFE LONG AS IT IS A CRONIC CONDITION AND NOT ABLE TO COME OUT OF THIS

I can understand your concern. Though needle prick is one of common mode of HIV transmission but even with prick of infected needed the risk is about 1%. You got prick accidentally and in such case the risk is very low. I am telling this to you just to reassure you. The ideas that you will develop HIV or anxiety because of these ideas were part of health anxiety.
After the scratch on finger you developed anxiety again. Just remain relaxed, HIV virus can't survive beyond seconds in air, so remain relaxed.
Daxid or Recita both are SSRI drugs and in my opinion no use to take both drugs simultaneously. Instead ask your doctor to increase the dose of Recita and this will help to improve your anxiety. This is not a hallucination. This is occurring due to health anxiety and is common in a lot of individuals.
