Suggest Treatment For Persistent UTI

Question: I have been fighting a UTI for 2 mnts now, this is the longest one has ever held on usually they get bad fast. I was prescribed macrobid it did not help at all so the doctor that saw me called in a different medication I am still having no relief and I am also taking AZO. I did all of themail STD screening as well. I do not have Inuance and paying out of pocket for the labs, and visits is getting expensive . I need advice as to what I should do or have my doctor do so that I do not waste money not getting better.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have UTI and have been taking antibiotics but there is no improvements in your symptoms.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.

1) What is your age ?
2) What are your Symptoms?
3) Have you done urine culture and sensitivity test ?
4) Have you done ultrasound Scanning of abdomen ?
5) Did you have unprotected sex?
Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like
Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

I am 27, I have frequency, bladder spasms and pain, the culture came back e.coli, no ultrasound. yes to unprotected sex but did the full STD scan aswell.
