Suggest Treatment For Persistent Abdominal Pain
What should I give her? She has the chills but no fever.
as explained in details.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query about your 22 year old daughter, albeit short and specific.
Notes that she vomited twice today and has pain in abdomen and chills; but no fever and feeling better after vomiting, no history of runny nose, fever or cough.
Given water, ginger ale, soup and crackers.
Vomiting with chills and pain in abdomen can indicate towards mild gastroenteritis if the history is taken in account.
I Would advise you the following:
Watch for further development/ loose stool or continuation or development of new symptoms to act upon accordingly.
If this settles on its own nothing further may be needed.
If the symptoms continue you will have to give a PPI like Omeprazole, Medicine like Domperidone if the vomiting persists, antacid orally, antispasmodic and additional treatment as per the developments.
I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
