Suggest Treatment For Persistent Acne On Face And Scalp
First of all, I have always been acne prone and had sensitive skin. Some years ago I was prescribed Isotretinoin, mainly for back acne. Afterwards my skin was in very good shape and I was happy. The back acne never returned, but facial acne did.
I have been getting these spots on the sides/back of my neck http://i.iYYYYr.com/0000.jpg. They do no itch, some of them are pus filled. They occasionally occour on my scalp as well. I wash my face, scalp and neck every day with SebaMed cleansing bar and moisturize with Kiehls ultra facial cream. When I scratch my scalp I can feel tiny plugs coming off sometimes, like little corn. It is very unsightly and it's ruining my self esteem, especially since I wear my hair very short buzzed (due to hair loss).
I do not take any medication.
I can supply more pictures if needed. Thank you
Some advises, gradual increasing treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your concern.
I read carefully your query and I saw your pictures.
They look like acne, and seems like you have tried some options of treating them, but trying again is better then feeling bad of not having tried.
I can tell that your skin its sensitive, because the acne is in the area where you may get sweat, or get irritated while you cut your hair. It is a common area to get irritated in men.
--Start by noticing what makes the acne worse and try to avoid those causes.
-- Eat a healthy diet, low in fat and with plenty of fruits and vegetables.
-- Use something topical, like Benzoyl peroxide, topical antibiotics or azelaic acid. Use them twice/day for one month, and then you will need to go to oral treatment.
Hope this is helpful
Let me know if you need more clarification. I would be happy to answer.
