Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough While On Foracort Inhaler 200
yes,nebulizer will be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Health care magic,
I have read your query and understand the concern.
Coughing with wheezing is likely due to upper respiratory tract infection (like pharyngitis) or may be acute bronchitis.
Here, it is likely due to viral infection or seasonal means some kind of allergic.
You should continue with Levoflox 500, Alerid-D and Foracort inhaler as advised by your doctor.
Pain killer and anti-inflammatory combinations like Aleve (naproxen) with Ibuprofen 400 mg may also be helpful if you have throat pain.
Nebulizer (with Duolin or Budesonide respules) 3 to 4 times a day will also be helpful to prevent further episodes of coughing.
And if nebulizer is taken with steam inhalation, the combination will be helpful to loose the cough inside throat and making it easier to expel out the mucus through mouth.
So, I would advice you to take nebulizer 2 or 3 times a day.
Also, drink plenty of fluids but avoid cold water or any other cold products like ice-cream etc.
Hope this will help you and let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks and Regards,
Dr.Sandip Kabra
Seasonal or some kind of allergic or viral infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up,
As I said earlier, upper respiratory infection could be due to seasonal or some kind of allergic or viral infection.
This infection are quite common in rainy season in XXXXXXX because during this season, humid and slightly warm atmosphere provides favorable medium for the bacteria and virus to grow.
It is for this reason, throat infections are frequently seen during monsoon in XXXXXXX
You can continue with Nebulizer and other symptomatic medications as antibiotics have very little role since it is mostly viral infection.
