Brief Answer:
Probably need to be evaluated...

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It is not uncommon to see cough for a few weeks following an acute respiratory infection. However since the current episode is associated with mucous and there is traces of blood, it is important to rule out lower respiratory infections bacterial infections.

I will urge you to get back to the doctor for a detailed respiratory infection. If deemed necessary a chest X-ray along with complete blood count need to be done. A second course of antibiotic will be administered thereafter.

In the meanwhile, I would start you on Syp Grilinctus 1tsp three times a day. Encourage you to do steam inhalation. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
