Suggest Treatment For Persistent Diarrhea And Flu

Question: Hi - I've been sick for about ten days- at first it started with having to go to the bathroom several times a day with diarrhea and then I felt better but then I got a mild fever and had to go to the bathroom again but my stools were solid again...then I felt better but then the mild fever came back and I've been week and using the restroom a lot again, the stools have been normal again though - and I have a cough and feel week - no blood in stools and not much pain, just whenever I eat I have to go a lot and I slept a ton last couple days...I assumed this was a touch of the flu or the stomach flu? Am I wrong? Should I go to the doctor? Thanks
Brief Answer:
A stool test will be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms might be due to infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
A stool test will be helpful to know the causative organism and treatment can be planned accordingly.
You can take a probiotic once a day along with parcetamol 500 mg for fever. Further medical management can be planned according to the report of the stool examination. A clinical evaluation by your doctor will be helpful.
Eat light meals and drink lots of water daily.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Regards. Thanks.
