Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dizziness And Fatigue In A Diabetic

default
Posted on Wed, 21 Sep 2016
Question: I've been very dizzy and have had extreme fatigue for the past 3 weeks. I did go to my family doctor last week and I'm waiting for blood work results. I brought up the laundry from the basement today and had to lay down to rest and when I'm at work I can barely function. I've had Type 2 Diabetes for the past 6 years and nothing like this have every happened before. I just turned 60. I'm really getting concerned since I'm adopted and don't know my medical history.

I had a hysterectomy in 1996 and have already been through menopause. I check my sugar twice a day and my latest A1C level was 7. This all began 2 weeks after I had this checked. Also my blood pressure was checked at the doctors and it was 140/80. He also said my heart was strong and lungs were clear. I do take a multivitamin everyday along with Prevacid and Reglan for a stomach problem I have had for 10 years (I start vomiting for no reason) and have been under a doctor's care for this. They have done every test they can but have not found the problem.

Brief Answer:
you need further work up

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for providing prompt information.
I understand that your sugar is under good control.
I would request you to go for further work up for your stomach problem.Taking Prevacid and Reglan for 10 years is too lengthy a period.I suggest you to get Ultra sound of upper abdomen and if needed Upper GI endoscopy.
Please get your exercise cardiac stress test done.sometimes extreme fatigue may be symptom of heart disease in diabetic.
please check Xray of Cervical spine to rule out spondylosis as cause of your dizziness.
Please give up smoking or alcohol if at all you are consuming,
my best wishes

As far as my stomach problems I've been to 3 specialists and they have done every test including ultra sound of upper abdomen and 3 endoscopys. Every test they have run have come back negative. I have another appointment with the specialist on Sept. 28. I did have a cervical spine x-ray last year when I couldn't move my neck and it came back that I have arthritis not only of the neck but also of the spine. I don't drink alcohol and I am trying to quit smoking. Thank you for the advise.
