Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dizziness When Diagnosed With Anxiety

Question: Hi
From last 2-3 months I am having this issue where when I try to sleep I feel like floating in air. This happens on closing the eyes. It feels like head is spinning and as soon as I open my eyes it goes away. Also when I am about to fall asleep there is some electric senaation in my head and I am forced to open my eyes and it goes away instantly.
This happens many times before falling asleep and once asleep no issues then and no issues after waking up.
I have been diagnosed having anxiety in the past and this didnt happened then but now when I have got some control over anxiety these symptoms have started coming.
These happen 2-3 times a week, rest of the days I am completely fine when trying to sleep.
Is this anxiety related? If not what actions need to be taken?
Thanks

I read your query and understand your concerns.
There are two possibilities for the available description
First it is menifestation of anxiety. It has been said that anxiety can manifest with myriad of symptoms and feelin of spinning and electric sensation are well described among them. The possibility is high in tour case as there is dignificant history of anxiety present.
The second possibility is positional vertigo. The points in favour are disapperance of symptoms on opening eyes and having symptoms for a certain duration.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
I have one doubt here, if it is a positional vertigo, why doesnt it happen everyday and why does it happens only on lying down . Also is it something to be concerned about .
I had met an ENT specialist few months back but he couldnt confirm to anything. Anti-vertigo medicines didnt help. So is another visit to ENT required?
Thanks

Brief Answer:
It is usual presentation
Detailed Answer:
Dear Veneet,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
I understand your questuon but in medical science exception is rule. In positional vertigo symptoms commonly occur with change of position and I feel this is the only main criteria in favour of PV.
Regarding consultation it is better to discuss with your psychiatrist before seekin ENT referal.
I hope this assists you further.
Thanks and regards.
