Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dizziness

Question: Good Morning. I have been experiencing dizziness for the past 4 months. Initially I was treated for benign vertigo. Nothing has helped. Cat scans and ear exams have come back negative. I did have PRK surgery late May of 2015, then September an onslaught of dizziness came on. I have been living with it, going to work, even working out, but i am almost always in a constant state of dizziness, unless I am sitting or lying down, but even then I can feel it in the background of my brain. I was wondering if an eye issue with the PRK may be causing the constant dizziness? Any suggestions would help.

I have gone carefully through your query. Our inner ear has the vestibulocochlear apparatus. While the cochlea relates to hearing, the vestibular apparatus deals with balance. Problems with the vestibular apparatus can lead to dizziness or vertigo. If that is the case, getting an ENT evaluation should help. Vestibulocochlear stabilizing agents like betahistine or cinnarizine (prescription medicines) should help. Discuss the options with your doctor.
