Question: I awoke while sleeping, went to the bathroom and when I went back to bed got dizzy after I lay back down. it happened again about 5 minutes later

What you are reporting is a very common finding it's called post urination (or defecation) vaso vagal reaction, which is manifested with bradycardia, dizziness or fainting.

Post urination vaso vagal reaction is a harmless condition, however I would recommend to do the following examinations in order to find out what is causing your symptoms:
- Blood work
- Ecg
- Cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring
- Tilt table test
