Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dry Cough And Occasional Fainting Spells

Question: My brother has some problem. He is having dry cough from sometime now, but from somedays he's getting unconscious. This has happened for some 4 times now.

Get done chest X-ray and MRI brain.

Hi,

Your brother is having chronic cough.
Cough can cause syncope due to vagal nerve stimulation.
But better to rule out brain pathology for his unconsciousness.
So take him to hospital and get done clinical examination, chest x ray and MRI brain.
Chest X-ray is needed to rule out lung causes for dry cough.
MRI is needed to rule out brain pathology.
Please let me know if he is having diabetes or hypertension.
Also let me know if he is smoker.
