Suggest Treatment For Persistent Fever
Question: Hi Doctor,
I am suffering from fever from 2 days, day time the temperature is normal but in the night time it is 103. Have done WIDAL test and diagnosed with starting phase of Typhoid. Doctor suggested me to take DOLO 650 3 times a day for 3 days, MAHACEF CV 200 at night for 3 days, Multivitamin tablet at night for 3 days, an Injection Monocep 1gm one time a day for three days, Monast LC two times for 3 days for cold and Pantomack-Dsr two times before food for three days. Is the Medicine fine. Results: Salmonella Typhi "O" 1:160 DIL, Salmonella Typhi "H" 1:80 DIL, Salmonella Paratyphi "AH" 1:20 DIL, Salmonella Paratyphi "BH" 1:20 DIL

You are on right medication. MAHACEF CV contains cefixime and clavulanic acid. It will take time to cure from the infection. After the injections you'll have to take the oral antibiotic tablets for 5 day course. Do not stop the medicines in between. Have more fluids and Bland diet. Avoid citrus fruits and meat for a month.

Thank You for answering my question. I have one more question. Can I continue with MAHACEF CV as oral antibiotic tablet? If not, can you please prescribe me the one. And how many times a day do I need to take that....
