Brief Answer:
Possible muscular pain or stomach discomfort

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

A sharp pain in general it is not because of a heart problem, but rather more because of a muscular problem or stomach problem.

The fact that the pain happens when you are at rest, and also the fact that you have had stomach problems, makes the heart problem even less likely.

-- Is the Aspirin you are taking a baby aspirin (80 or 100 mg?) or is it a 375-500mg Aspirin?
If it is an aspirin that you have taken for the pain, then I would suggest stopping it because it may upset your stomach more.

If it is a baby aspirin, continue taking it, but do so only after or along with meals.

-- For the pain take 650mg of Acetaminophen (Tylenol) every 8 hours, and let me know if it helps.

-- Also, take something to relive the acid in the stomach, because it may be a possible cause, together with the gasses. In general I recommend my patients to take Cap Omeprazole 40mg, in the morning, 15-20 min before food.

-- Be careful of your posture, if possible, because sometimes a bad posture may stretch the back muscles and aggravate this pains further.

If worse or not better after trying these practical advises, I would recommend seeing a local doctor.

Hope this is helpful.
