Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headaches And Migraine
He is now taking "nicip cold and flu" tablet whenever he gets the headache and in a month he generally takes 4 to 5 tablets.
My questions are:
1. Is it safe to take this tablet in a frequency he is taking?
2. Is there any alternative medicine he can try which is safe?
3. Is there anything we can do to get a permanent solution to this problem?
Ayurveda Management & Approach
Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and after reviewing your case history following opinion can be deduced:
1. since you have been to numerous doctors, even then I must mention the following points so that you can let me know whether every possibility is excluded or not:
i Since as a daily routine one must check/test the following signs:
- Blood Pressure for Hypertension.
- Sinus Tenderness over maxillary & frontal sinuses, and look for any focus of infection in teeth, tonsils & ears.
- tenderness on nape of neck or pain on neck movements.
- if associated fever, check with neck stiffness.
- Check eyesight for any refractive error and blood sugar for low glucose in blood.
PS If there is any neurological sign found by General Physician he may refer you for Neurologist's opinion please
2. If all the above mention symptoms/examination are normal then we can safely manage the disease on the line of 'Ardhavbhedak':
i. One should avoid precipitating factors like: sleeping late, tension, starvation, chocolates, cheese, alcohol, dry food, excessive sex and suppression of natural urges, excess physical/mental exertion.
