Suggest Treatment For Persistent Kidney Stones

Question: Hi Sir,

This is XXXX. in March, 2012 a 12mm stone in right kidney and small multiple fragments about less than 3 mm found in left kidney. The following treatment is done only for right kidney so far and no treatment done for left one yet.

I was in XXXXXXX then and a doctor in one of the hospital suggested me to go for a Lithotripsy along with one beating machine solution (i do not know exact name of it), in this they used to beat at the back of my Kidney to blast the stone from outside.

With that solution only 6 mm was gone out and 6 mm was still there and he removed a stent. After removing the stent got infection in Right kidney, then he re-stented to cure the infection.

He said only 6 mm is left in right kidney and small fragments in left one and nothing to worry, they may with some medications. But they did not work out.

Current Scenario:

Now i have done CT scan again in XXXXXXX Malakpet this year in May, 2015. That revealed a 7 mm in right and multiple fragments in left one about 6 mm.

I need better solution, in this scenario which one would help to get rid of these stones. Yes in know that if no proper care they may form once again, but want to get them out for now and will take care my self in future.

Clarifications Required and Best Solutions that suits from below ones:

I now that there are various methods to treat the stones. The ones i know are Open Surgery (May not suitable for my case), Normal Stenting (Which i under went earlier), Hole Surgery ( Need your suggestion, would this help me or not) and the last one i could see and good one is RIRS laser.

Does RIRS laser method also requires to keep stent for about month then remove or it deosn't require to keep the stent in uratery.

Hi,
I suggest you should get a detailed evaluation, and apart from blood tests, these could include a CT KUB scan without contrast, which will give a much more definitive picture of the stones in both kidneys, including the density if stones, and the anatomy, and whether they need treatment, and whether they are amenable to ESWL, which is what you underwent last time,vor should you plan RIRS, which might not work if the stones are in lower portions of the kidneys. PCNL is a rather invasive surgery for such small stones, and mini- PCNL might be a better option, but again, everything will depend on anatomy and nature of stones.There are multiple Hospitals such as Star or XXXXXXX which have the required facilities to help guide you.

I am available only at Star Hospitals. I am there usually from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days except first and third Saturday when I am away on personal work.
