Suggest Treatment For Persistent Muscle Aches And Joints Pain

For about two weeks I have been experiencing muscle and joint aches (flu like), muscle twitches, some tingling (like a buzzing or throbbing) in my extremities.
Last night I woke up around midnight with the tingling buzzing sensation all over my body and some minor muscle twitching. When I got up to go to the bathroom, the feeling went away and when I went back to bed, it came back gradually.
In September, I got some blood work done that showed good kidney function but my ALT levels. The reason for the blood work was for an intermittent sharp pain in in my lower back, possible kidney stones. My urologist ordered a CT scan and I got the feeling that they found kidney stones based on their questioning. symptoms came on, I stopped. I saw my GP and she thinks my symptoms are related to stress and anxiety. I started taking xanax, zoloft and calcium, magnesium and B-complex. but I stopped the other day as it seemed my muscle twitching was getting worse. I thought perhaps the SSRI were making it worse. I have an appointment on Tuesday to review CT results with Urologist.
Please tell me your thoughts and if I need urgent care.
CT scan is best test to diagnose kidney stones.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understsand your concern.
Your doubt about if kidney failure or dysfunction is present,is a clear NO.
Your CT scan would not be done,if you had kidney failure.
In september, you've written kidney function was normal.
Kidney stone is your main concern. For same reason, stop taking calcium tablets.
That's best seen on the CT scan,so wait for the report,or send it here.
I'll give you an expert opinion on that.
As most stones are formed of calcium, stop taking any calcium.
In case your ALT levels are higher than normal, stop taking alcohol.
Check your lipid profile and LFT.
Send all the reports here, for an expert opinion,or show them to your doctor.
Start exercising daily for one hour, once the muscle pain is relieved.
Wish you well.
