Question: How long can nerve burning last? I have had burning under my arm and back for a week. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Nerve pain
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you are having nerve pain on your arm and back. If this is muscle spasms and injury it could last 1-2 weeks. If it is a true nerve entrapment then it may last for weeks. I would recommend that you first start some stretching exercises and anti-inflammatory medications. It is is a muscle spasms this should help. In the case of actual nerve damage you should see your medical provider for evaluation. They may send you to physical therapy and possible imaging studies to determine the actual cause of your pain.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Well, i saw my doctor and they think the nerves were over stimulated by a heating pad i used. But i am also being evaluated for lupus and MS because of other strange symptoms. My ana has been negative though. My crp is 10, my wbc 11.9 and my platelets have been 438.
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry to hear that you have possible nerve damage from a heating pad. This may take several weeks to repair. Your labs are slightly high but not specific enough to rule out the possible Lupus or MS. I recommend that you follow up with your doctor and follow their advice. I wish you best of luck on your health and future
