Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain In The Abdomen

Question: Asked earlier about my son, age 26 with a possible hernia, or appendistis, did ct and ultrasound scans at emergency room, radiologist says no indications os such, need additional advise on how to proceed, could it be a bowel obstruction? Causing moderate to severe pain?

I am so sorry to hear about this pain that your son has. With a CT-scan ruling out appendicitis and hernia, it is highly unlikely. These diagnoses are predominantly clinical and as such a scan would only confirm rather than be used to make the diagnosis. Also, if he had an occlusion the scan would have shown distended abdominal loops. Occlusions often comes with pain, abdominal distention and vomiting. However, if all is done and there is no clear cause identified, this might be caused by dysfunctional digestive disorders. In this case, I will suggest that you get a gastroenterologist on board for further evaluation and management.
