Question: Hello Dr.,
I'm doing alright. I had sent you some stool pictures but our conversation has been cancelled. Still having some soft stools. On XXXXXXX 9th I had a total solid one. Some are semi solid, part soft other part is soft, soft enough that it marks the toilet. So what did you think of my bowel movements schedule and how there like along with what I ate for the month? Also would you still want me to send you some pictures?
Thanks for asking how I have been!

Brief Answer:
Yes I'm interested to have more news (photos) from you...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
It's nice to hear that you have being alright recently.

After seeing the last photos sent on the last query I would like to say that your stools have normal consistence and I don't consider them abnormal. However can you upload again to this query so I would be sure 100% that we are discussing for the same photos

As I said earlier after reviewing your bowel movement schedule my opinion is that your symptoms aren't related to what you ate this months. Your bowel movement is more related to anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome.

Yes I'm interested to have more news from you (medical data, questions, photos etc.).

Wish you health!

Hello Dr.,
The first picture I sent you was one of the worse ones where there's u digested food in it. I believe there was one or two where you can see some red stuff in the stool. Looks as if its u digested food. The last picture I sent was from today. Yesterday no BM's. Just don't understand one time I think it was last mont I had a bm then about over an hour later had another. I think it was on my bm schedule I sent you for May.
Let me know what you think.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
After seeing all photos that you have sent to me I can say that this is likely for IBS and stress related.
The first photo you have sent to me has nothing worry.
The changes in consistency of your stool is related with the frequency of BM.

You are reporting too that you have had normal full solid stool.
Alteration between solid stool and semisolid is typical sing to IBS and stress related.
I looked carefully at all you photos and there is no undigested food at your stools.

I wish you all the best

Hello Dr. Klerida
So if this is IBS is there a test for this and what is in need to fix the problem? Also would you still want me to test for Candida? The first picture I sent, you said that was not undigested food? Then what was the green and red thing that's visible in the picture? I do have more stool times and how they are that I have in my email. Would it be possible for me to send some of these to an email of yours? So I won't have to print these out to then take pictures to send you?

Thanks Again! XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXXXX

Let me explain again:

1. The diagnosis of IBS (irritable bowel disease) is made only after excluding all the possible organic issues. This is why it's important to run the entire test (including stool test for candida) to reach to an exact diagnosis.

2. After reviewing all the photos of your stool my opinion is that your stool is within normal parameters and it doesn't look like undigested food (even those green and red things). Most likely they are food fibers that may present in normal foods especially in patients with IBS that have a faster intestinal transit.

3. You may send how many pics you want to send to me on the premium forum.

Wish you health!

Hi back XXXXXXX
Let me explain you one more time.

What you are experiencing with every day changes on stool consistence is very typical for patients with IBS (irritable bowel disease). However the diagnosis of IBS is made possible after excluding all other gastrointestinal issues. This is why i strongly recommend to do the stool test for candida.

Hope this will help!
Wish you health!

I called my GI doctor today and talked to with receptionist. I had her ask the Dr how would I go about getting a stool test done. She got back with me later and said that when I was in there the Dr wanted me to re do the colonoscopy and Endoscopy. I said that since I had already done the colonscopy and nothing was found I would just like the endoscopy re done because of the Barrett's. And that I would like a Candida test done. She said they look for Candida with the Endoscopy. I had said that I was told that it's done with a stool test and that I also read it on line too. So I don't qualify for the Endoscopy until July 21st I believe. She also said that the Dr does a swipe dusting or something to find anything.

I had looked it up again on line and this is what I found. Unfortunalty, the small intestine is just outside of the effective range of the endoscopy, and the small bowel is the most important part of the digestive system because it is here that practically all the digestion and absorption takes place.
The problem with such procedures is if they find minimal or nothing, then all may be deemed to be "OK" and the patient is sent home thinking that the problem is probably all in their head, rather than in the bowel. While an endoscopy can reveal a structural problem. I have rarely if ever found that this procedure picks up any yeast infection issues with patients. Well please tell me what you think about what they told me.

Thanks again for helping me through this! XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Following answer to your query.

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

You are right, endoscopy can suspect only macroscopic yeast infection and it can't detect minimal or subclinical cases.

This is why you should do the stool test for candida. This is the only examination that definitely confirm or exclude any yeast infection.

Moreover I would recommend to do the capsule endoscopy for a better evaluation of small intestine mucosa (it can reach even when common endoscopy can't).

Wish you health!

Hi back,

As i said earlier the change on stool consistence is typical with patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Yesterday stool were soft and all together and you shouldn't worry about that.

Please follow up with the recommended test (stool test for candida and capsule endoscopy) in order to exclude other problems and to confirm the diagnosis of IBS.

Wish you health!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

You are right there's also a imunologic test (blood test) for infection IgG and IgM but the results are only suggestive and not direct as with stool test for candida.

This is why I strongly recommend to do the stool test for candida instead of imunological tests.

I' m waiting to hear more news from you.
Wish you health!
