Brief Answer:
Dose of ondensetron is 4 mg for this age

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I can understand your concern.
The common cause of loose motion and vomiting in this age is some viral infection(if associated with fever) or food poisoning.
The main aim of management is to prevent dehydration by decreasing the vomiting episodes and by giving plenty of fluids (ORS).
The dose of ondensetron for this age is 4 mg per dose and it can be given at an interval of 6-8 hours.
The Emeset solution contains 2 mg/5 ml;so the dose will be 10 ml of solution 6-8 hourly depending on the severity.
The dose of crocin (paracetamol) is 10-15 mg / kg / dose and it can also be given three times a day. 5 ml of Crocin DS will be appropriate for 20-25 kg's child.
I would like to add some probiotic like Bifilac or enterogermina(helps in maintaining normal gut flora ) for early recovery. It may take 4-5 days for the stool pattern to get normal.
Give easily digestible food and avoid junk foods, fruit juice and carbonated beverages.
If vomiting persists, oral acceptance is poor, child is getting lethargic or there is decreased urinary output consult your physician as these signs are suggestive of dehydration.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your child's speedy recovery.

Sir, for how many days Emeset has to be given?
She hasn't passed any stool since yesterday evening. Is this common phenomenon?

Brief Answer:
Give emeset only when needed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up

If there is no vomiting or the frequency has decreased, give emeset only when she complains of feeling of vomiting.
Infrequent passage of stool is common following loose stool.
I won't get worried for infrequent stool,if vomiting frequency has decreased and there is no abdominal distension.

Continue giving diet as usual and give plenty of fluids.

Please let me know if there is any new problem or you have any more doubts.
Regards
