Question: Hi,
I have an uncircumcised penis. Problem is that i am not able to pull it back, even if i try to, it causes pain. I am a 26 years old male and quite worried about this problem. After reading a couple of articles, it seems that i should have been able to pull the foreskin even with an uncircumcised penis.

Can you please recommend a solution?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Of course, circumcision would be a permanent solut

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!

I have carefully gone through your problem. Of course, circumcision would be a permanent solution for your problem, but it is up to you to go for it or not. It takes about 6 weeks to get completely healed from circumcision surgery to participate in sex. You can also discuss with your consulting Urologist about medical ways of fixing your problem, by the usage of some low potent steroid creams along with some retraction advice. But, these too have their own risks and are advised only after careful physical examination and strict supervision from your Urologist. They also have certain side effects which vary from individual to individual. Kindly, discuss about these options with your consulting Urologist who decides after physical examination.

Thanks Doctor.

A follow up question. Is it really important to have a circumcised penis for having sex? I mean, what if i dont get this surgery don! Would the skin itself not adjust and the foreskin be pulled on itself as a result of ma first intrcourse??

What are the side effects of circumcision and how much will it typically cost?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
No, circumcision is not mandatory.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

No, circumcision is not mandatory. You can have sexual intercourse without any such treatment also, but should be little careful that foreskin may not get stuck behind which might result in complications. You can do that by maintaining good lubrication. However, physical examination is required to confirm things.

What are the side effects of circumcision and how much will it typically cost?
Bed rest for few days. But participating in sex cannot be done before 6 weeks or more. Varies from hospital to hospital.

Thanks!
