Suggest Treatment For Pimples In The Groin Area

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: I was diagnosed yesterday with crotch rot. However today when I went to check my area and apply the compound cream. I noticed it was like a pimple and it burst. And a lot of puss came out. Could this have been misdiagnosed as a large pimple? Should I go to the hospital or just back to my clinic

Cellulitis

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you have had an infection in your groin area. You were told you had a fungal infection and today the area ruptured with lots of purulent material. You need to see your doctor today as they misdiagnosed you. You need to be on an oral antibiotics and the abscess needs to be drained and packed to prevent further infection. I would call your medical provider and ask to be seen. If they can not see you then go to a local urgent care. They can help as well as your medical provider and not have the huge ER XXXXXXX and loss of time.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Thank you for the help. I consulted with a diffefent doctor and he prescribed me oral antibiotics. He examined the area with a second opinion of another DR that when it popped i got the "sack" i beleive he called it, out when i drained it myself. And he cleaned and packed it to prevent further infection .
