I am so sorry to hear about these red dots that you have reported. The most common cause of such bumps are small blood leaks out of the vessels. This is more common in adults as thinning of the skin and more fragile vessels set in with aging. These dots would usually change colors to green/black/blue-black, etc. until they are finally cleared by the cells of the body.

For now, I will will recommend that you stay calm. There is no need to panic. Simply monitor these dots and they would disappear gradually as mentioned above.
