Suggest Treatment For Pink Eye, Yellow Discharge And Itching
Acute purulent bacterial conjunctivitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It seems you have acute purulent bacterial conjunctivitis as there is pus around the corner of eye with pink eyes.
Topical antibiotics (such as a fluoroquinolone e.g moxifloxacin) is likely to help since it did not resolve with topical tobramycin,an aminoglycoside which covers mainly susceptible strains of gram-negative bacteria. I sincerely suggest to see an Ophthalmologist for change in the medication as this Tobra is not working. My suggestion is Oral quinolones. Discuss with the doctor.
Did you have any previous reactions to aminoglycosides like gentamycin or amikacin?
You can continue with Alrex eye drops (loteprednol etabonate 0.2% eye drops ) but you need to apply antibacterial eye drops simultaneously as Alrex is corticosteroid eye drop and infection may spread or flare-up.

Recent cataract surgery-now with red/pink eye.

Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You might have undergone Intraocular lens transplant (IOL) in Feb and the stitches ,if any, must have been removed (usually by 2 weeks) .
Yellow stuff at the corner of your eye indicates pus pointing towards purulent infection.
However in view of recent cataract surgery.intra-ocular tension needs to be measured preferably by aplantation tonometry and consultation with Ophthalmologist is needed to exclude iridocyclitis, which can also cause red/pink eye.
