Brief Answer:
Selection of IOL.

Detailed Answer:
All IOL are best. You should select one as per need. Bifocal, Uni focal are available. Now even photochromic lens are also available. For your father you should select uni focal. Available are premium, toric and Aspheric. Since your father is going for surgery in both the eye then you might consider mono vision. This involve implanting IOL in one eye having near better vision correction and the other eye having better distant correction. Traditional lens is Aspheric. Price you have quoted are correct. The surgeon will advice the type and other detail as per need. None of the IOL produce any side effect.
