Suggest Treatment For Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

Posted on Wed, 5 Oct 2016
Question: My question is of a psychiatric nature.
I am a diagnosed PTSD patient and suffer also from PPD, and schizoid events.
I have a symptom I don't know how to classify , treat it, or stop it! I don't know what it is called !
I have made up a story that I killed a man back in 1976, and disposed of his remains in a way they would never be found..... And of course that explains why I have PTSD, and the associated ailments.
I think I do this because I don't want people to know the real reasons behind my illness, which is that my own father Physically and sexually molested me as a young boy.
The questions is this: Is there a name for this behavior? is it treatable?
Thank you!
By the way..... There never was a killing and or a body! just a sick mind!!~

Brief Answer:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) usually occurs after exposure to sexual trauma, particularly child abuse. The reaction may be delayed as in your case. PTSD can cause exaggerated negative beliefs as you cooked up a story of murdering a person and making his remains untraceable. This kind of hallucinatory behavior following a trauma is called traumatic hysteria in the form of a recalling memory of traumatic event in negative fashion. You did not made a story of any positive or affirmative action on your part. PTSD is highly curable involving drug and behavioral therapy. SSRIs (Selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors) like paroxetine and sertraline are approved for PTSD. PTSD is however subject to recurrence.
