Suggest Treatment For Post Viral Cough

post viral cough.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Ginny, thanks for your query.
Cough after viral flu, will definitely take about 2 to 4 weeks to reduce.
This is because of post viral chest congestion.
Your temp has reduce, which suggest that infection has come to control.
If I were your treating doctor, I would prescribe antihistamines+ decongestant+ mucolytics along with expectorant cough syrup for one week.
Duolin+steroid nebulization 4 the hourly for 5 days.
If cough doesn't reduce by then, I would ask for blood count, sputum analysis, CRP, ESR, chest x ray , spirometry's.
Depending on report I would treat you with antibiotics and steroid s , if necessary .
I would suggest you to meet your physicia n and discuss my views with him.
Hope my answer s have helped you.
Pleased to help you further. Regards.
