Suggest Treatment For Postprandial Hypotension
Anyway, My complaint today are these symptoms that just do not subsided. Whenever i eat, I feel this pressure fatigue behind my eyes, feel dizzy, sometimes hard to come out with the right words when I speak, rigging in my ear, mostly the left ear. My worse attack was yesterday when i went to a restaurant with my friend and I have a few tortillas, may be three small one, some chicken and soup and vegetable. Boy, I felt so sick after I left the restaurant. I felt so dizzy, pressure behind my eyes, space out, lost of concentration, also my ears are rigging so badly. Today, I ate a very low carbonate diet, one piece of bread with some slice turkey, and all those symptoms returned after eating. i measure my blood sugar, and it was 102, and blood pressure is 104/69. It happened again at dinner. I have been measuring my blood sugar for the last week or so, usually 2 hours after i ate. The number is between 105-125, sugar is not a problems.
Today, I also experience some sudden sharp pain on my left breast and pain on my lower left, just behind my waist. These two symptoms only happen today. I used to .be able to watch TV and like to look at the caption, but now I cound not do it anymore.
My doctor said all my blood works are normal and he is sending me for more blood work, comp metabolic panel, Lipid panel, B12 and folate, C-Reactive protein, Sed rate
Thyroxine T4. TSH, 3rd generation, Urinalysis. Vit D, 25-Hydroxy. Any feed back about these will be most appreciated.
sorry, I did not sign off, my name is XXXX
Postprandial hypotension.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
In my opinion, first condition that needs to be assessed/excluded is Postprandial hypotension, or lowering of blood pressure after meals.
Evaluation of this condition as a possible cause of your symptoms, includes checking blood pressure after 5 minutes rest in laying position before meals and 4-5 times after 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 minutes in laying position.
The main mechanism after this condition is splanchnic dilatation ( widening of abdominal blood vessels ) after meals.
Since you experienced symptoms after exercise too, an incompetence of sympathetic nervous system should be considered also.
Further insight on your condition will be given after blood tests results ordered by your Doctor.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
ok. will check my pressure as instructed. If it is true that I have Postprandial hypotension and splanchnic dilatation ( widening of abdominal blood vessels, is there any remedy to prevent this? I am doing my blood work next week, will definitely let you know.
