Question: Hi Doctor:
I have used Health Magic in the past and they have been so helpful.

My question today: I have been diagnosed with pvcs about four years ago. Had stress test and they called them etopic beats. I take Atenolol 25mg when needed. They have been quite stable for a while. I took Atenolol seldomly. I have been under a lot of stress for several weeks now. My daughter has been diagnosed with seizures. My job has become very stressful. I now get the pvcs frequently with the slightest adrenaline. They feel like they are jumping out of my chest and throat. So annoying. Cannot control them. I am taking Atenolol now almost every day. Seems to help. Trying to reduce my stress also. Which at this point is virtually impossible. Could these pvcs be related to increased stress level? Could I stop Atenolol once I am feeling better or do I need to wein off of them. I also watch my caffeine intake as well.

Brief Answer:
Yes,stress level can trigger/aggravate PVCS...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and am sorry for the life-situations you are in.

Increased stress level is a triggering factor for frequent PVCS. That's why, you should be using Atenolol during this stressful situation as it will help reduce:
- stress level
- frequency of PVCS

Once you'll be able to control stress or such stressful situation will be over, and you'll feel better (with rare PVCS), then, you can stop taking Atenolol.

It is great that you are also watching your caffeine intake as well as it will help reduce your stress level and PVCS too.

Being physically active and eating healthy foods will also help.

All the best!
