Suggest Treatment For Presence Of Blood In Stool And Constipation

same weight as always 168
for years ive always had blood off and on not a lot sometimes a bit more then usual
a few months ago I was constipated for months and its better but I'm still not back to my usual movements
when I go on the left side if I had to guess id say about 2 inches in I can feel a somewhat sharp/sting as I pass. and lately the last few weeks there has been lots of blood bright red in and around the stool and in the water and toilet paper
the water changed color kinda foggy light red if that helps
I seen a doc and I'm waiting on a colonoscopy he didn't tell me what it could be?
any ideas and should I be worried? thanks
most likely hemorrhoids / anal fissure..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query in details and understand your concern,
First of all, please do not worry, all these signs and symptoms are mostly indicating towards anal fissure (a tear in the in the lining of the lower rectum) and/ swollen veins in the lowest part of your rectum and anus ( a hemorrhoid)..
Yes, good that you've been seeing a Doctor, and colonoscopy will confirm the diagnosis as well as further gradation and treatment course (which will be depending on the colonoscopy finding)..
Meanwhile, start taking Sitz bath three times daily (sit down in a tub of XXXXXXX warm water for 15-20 min with 2-3 table spoon salt put in to it), it'll provide some symptomatic relief, [do watch a tutorial demo-video in Youtube on ''how to take SITZ bath'' prior to this]
Start the day with a full glass of water(preferably XXXXXXX warm with a squeeze of lime/lemon and a tsf of honey) and some physical exercises (not necessarily gym, but simple stretching and free hand exercises, jogging will do too), followed by a visit to the wash-room..try to make it a routine..initially it'll be difficult, but, if practiced daily, soon the body will adapt and bowel habits will be regularized too and will help preventing constipation in the long run..
Do not strain during defecation under any circumstances, this is extremely important..
Avoid spicy/junk/processed/deep fried foods.. start having organic foods, replace the daily grains (wheat, flour etc.) to whole grain foods..
Have plenty of fresh seasonal fruits, include green leafy veggies in your daily diet (even salads will do)..
Drink plenty of water, stay well hydrated (at least 3 ltr per day)..
Try to have a proper sleep routine of 6-8 hrs per day..try to avoid stress..
Do let me know how you stay in the due course..
Take Care
Kind Regards
