Suggest Treatment For Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding

Question: Hi,
I am 25 years old , as I got thyroid from last 3 years and I am using 75mg tablet for it.
I have periods problem , sometimes my periods will start with single drop clotting and it will stay for 15 days then it will start usual bleeding for 5 days.
It is really making me worry.consulted doctor been told that no problem is there.
Even from past 15 days it is bleeding for me, could I u please suggest me a tablet to stop it , next week my marriage I am very tensed and worried.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. The prolonged periods is called hypermenorrhea. It can be controlled by the use of low dose hormonal pills (commonly used as oral contraceptives). I would insist you to take Ovral L or some other similar pill (although for a different purpose) once daily regularly. This will also help you in delaying the periods if you need. Please note that after stating it, whenever you stop it, you will get periods (withdrawal bleeding) within 5-7 days.

Please discuss with a gynecologist and remain under his follow up for the mentioned ailment.
