Suggest Treatment For Prostate Cancer
naltrexone sideeffects
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The use of naltrexone as far as I know on cancer is in research phase. However if you want to use it , go ahead since the side effects are not that great. I would suggest you do a prior LFTs test since there is some recent data it may cause liver toxicity. Besides that the most common side effect is the GI upset like abdominal pain and diarrhea. This is the list of side effects that you may expect.
More common
Abdominal or stomach cramping or pain (mild or moderate)
anxiety, nervousness, restlessness or trouble sleeping
headache
joint or muscle pain
nausea or vomiting
unusual tiredness
Less common
Chills
constipation
cough, hoarseness, runny or stuffy nose, sinus problems, sneezing, or sore throat
diarrhea
dizziness
fast or pounding heartbeat
increased thirst
irritability
loss of appetite
sexual problems in males
Please know the less common side effects are really rare, don't at all bother about them. In case you notice some of the symptoms may look like symptoms of depression as you mentioned however it doesn't cause XXXXXXX depression and as soon as you would be off the drug you should be fine. And please use the low dose naltrexone up to 4.5 mg. Please also note some of the depression symptoms like appetite loss , feeling down can also be due to the effects of cancer itself so don't mix them up with the drug side-effects. I hope this helps
