Suggest Treatment For Protruding Rashes On Head And Forehead
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I have developed a red, bumpy rash on my head and forehead (I am bald). It has spread to my arms and back. I have taken a picture (not sure if I can send it to you). I took Benadryl this afternoon and another 30 minutes ago. No relief. Can you advise.
Possibility of Allergic response
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
Welcome!
I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Sr Dermatologist.
I have noted the details and examined pic.
The presentation mimics an allergic response which could be due to some known/unknown factor. The common causes could be due to some application on scalp, any head cover, a locally applied medication or exposure to environment having hostile constituents.
It is highly recommended for such problems to be dealt with in the following manner:
1 Sponge the area frequently, using plain water and without soap
2 Avoid exposure to chemicals, sun exposure, irritants
3 Anti-allergics like Levocetirizine 5 mg or a comparable salt will help relieve itching in most cases. Dose can be increased safely in most cases, if required
4 Please note how the rash evolves and inform if there is any further concern.
It can take a couple of days for the rash to subside.
Best wishes from us all!
