Suggest Treatment For Protrusion On Laryngeal Canal
Supraglottic cyst...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query. I have examined the images thoroughly and will try my best to help you with this.
1. The images show a smooth soft tissue bulge on the right side of the supra glottis. Don't worry! The swelling could most probably be a harmless cyst (fluid filled sac) and doesn't look like a malignant lesion as there is no destruction of the surrounding structures.
2. The lesion is most probably located in the supra glottic region. This is further confirmed by the history, which doesn't mention of any change in voice. Lesions involving the glottis will present with hoarseness or change in voice and sometimes breathing difficulty.
3. You would also require a fibreoptic laryngoscopy to examine the shape, size and extension of the lesion.
Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.

Ive had this feeling for nearly a year at this point. I have a lot of problems with heart burn and stomach acid related discomfort (probably acid reflux, but no Doc has diagnosed it as this). Im also a heavy smoker and drinker. Are cysts very common in these circumstances? So youre saying something cancerous would look much different to what the CT shows?
Thank yo so much for your help,u
Mucosal cysts are not uncommon... This is my provisional diagnosis...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing back
Cysts in these areas are not uncommon; this happens due to blockage of the mucosal glands. But, this is my provisional diagnosis. We need to examine the larynx using a flexible video laryngoscope to arrive at a diagnosis, and excision biopsy has to be performed, if required. Cysts are slightly more common in smokers due to blockage of the mucosal glands. Get evaluated at the earliest to rule out any other causes. Wish you good luck and good health.
