Suggest Treatment For Psoriasis Skin

Management of psoriasis skin
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same .
Now your problem is that of psoriasis of skin.
Since you have this problem since quite a few years, you must be aware that this problem has several recurrences .
Since you are presently only on topical therapy, it means that the problem is not very severe in your case. It is a very good thing if application of the medicine on and off only heals the skin lesions. This is the natural course of the disease. Sometimes it heals completely and sometimes there is development of few skin lesions. So medicines need to be applied only when the skin lesions appear.
It is important for you to know that it is impossible to eliminate this disease from the body by any medicines developed till date. So do not be fooled by anyone offering a magical treatment for it. Avoid taking desi medicines for this problem since most of them contains steroids and these steroids can aggravate the problem.
There are certain thing which can precipitate psoriasis or can aggravate the problem like intake of alcohol, intake of pain killers, steroidal drugs, desi medicines etc. So you should be very careful before taking any medicines.
Also sunlight has a healing effect on the skin lesions. So you can expose the skin lesions to sunlight as and when they develop.
There are no other dietery restrictions .
Hope it helps

Medicines for psoriasis
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Although there is no consensus on the role of diet in psoriasis , it is generally believed that fish , sea foods, fresh fruits, salads and nuts are good for psoriasis patients. As far as avoidance is concerned, alcohol is one thing that we tell our patients .
Now systemic drugs used in psoriasis have to be very carefully used with proper monitoring and have to be given for a long time. So we try to avoid them as far as possible and they are given only to patients with severe disease .

Pathology of psoriasis
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Psoriasis is basically an autoimmune skin condition. This means that it can occur in just anyone. It can also be genetically acquired in our genes.
So this means that there are just few people who age predisposed to develop this problem. Nothing much can be done to eliminate this problem from our body. We can only improve ones condition with treatment . But the good thing about this problem is that it only leads to development of skin lesions in most patients . It does not cause any damage to any organ of our body.
It may require lifelong treatment just like other chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension but it is not a dangerous condition like diabetic and high blood pressure.
So if your skin lesions simply come and go and are controlled by minimal treatment , then it is a good sign.
Most importantly, it is not a contagious skin condition, so nobody else can get it from you.
