Suggest Treatment For Pulsating Sensation In The Neck In An Obese Person

Advised labs that you need to do to understand your problem
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
I don't think it is related to a problem since it lasts only for a short time and as I understand it doesn't give you headache or other concerns. It happens that when you do activity, the heart rate increases and we become more sensible to the heart rate feeling.
Anyway, to bring you a peace of mind I would recommend to consider doing:
-- A CBC (to check for possible anemia)
-- TSH (to check for possible thyroid problem)
-- An ultrasound of the nect to check for possible plaques which may block the carotid arteries.
These would be enough to diagnoses causes of the symptoms that you are describing above.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
Otherwise please close and rate the answer.

Possible tension headache and muscular neck and shoulder pain
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up question.
There is a diffrence between saying the heck hurts for very short time then stops and then saying it hurts all the time. Please tell me the right facts or otherwise I will give you wrong advice according the information you gave to me.
A pain which is short, and that returnes to normal in between, then most probably is nothing to worry about, but its good to check the labs I have mentioned above.
The headache- if it returns normal after taking a painkiller, or by itself, or if starts after a long day at work or after not sleeping well, then it is most probably tension hedache and nothing to worry about too.
The neck and shoulder pain, in general is a posture problem, so basically muscular. So take a pain killer, good posture, physical therapy if possible, avoid what its causing it...all this will help to feel better.
These are my thoughts according to the information you gave to me. Please update with me if I got anything wrong and I will be happy to give further advice.
Regards,
Dr.Papaqako

Same advices and labs recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
It is much more clear now.
So I would give the same advises given in the first reply.
I would not expect anything serious to come out of them, because you are active and the veins pulsate normally, and in times we feel them more then usual. Also, it is just for a short time, so this fact makes me not worried, because it would be persistent in case was a problem there.
But as I said, to be extra sure and to reduce the mistake of my assumption, I would recommend to do those labs I mentioned above.
Please feel free to consult the results with me if you want.
Regards,
Dr.Papaqako
