Brief Answer:
Spine disc issue seems most probable.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Kidney stone pain usually gives pain on the one side back radiating to the groin and inner tight. So this is possible if your pain is in the inner part of the hip and upper leg. Kidney stone usually also gives some burning while urinating.
To examine the kidney, please try to knock it your back with your hand. If it hurts, kidney stone is possible.

If the pain is on the outside of the leg, spine disc issue or nerve compression in the pelvis (piriformis syndrome for example) is much more probable.

If you perform regular physical activity (especially jogging or bike riding), inflammation of the abductor muscle can be the case.

I suggest you to consult orthopedist and have spine MRI done. X-ray of the pelvis is very sketchy test good to detect fractures. But it does not tell anything about possible nerve compression.
