Suggest Treatment For Rash On Upper Back Of A 5 Week Old Infant
MILIARIA
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM
I have gone through your question and the images attached. Don't worry. Your baby is having miliaria rubra or heat rash as you were suspecting.
Miliaria is most common in the first few weeks of life. It is especially common in hot, humid weather but almost any baby can get it. It is more common in babies who are bundled too warmly. It's due to plugging of immature sweat glands. They usually improve in 2-3 days with proper management.
I would recommend you a cooler environment, lightweight clothing, and lukewarm baths for your baby to effectively treat miliaria. Apply lactocalamine lotion on the lesions twice daily for early relief. Avoid any oils and creams over the area.
Hopefully this will help him. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
