Suggest Treatment For Rashes And Bumps On Scrotum
Question: I'm a 45 yr old male. I'm working at a camp job right now and slept nude a few nights but woke up with a rash and bumps one morning on scrotum and inner thigh area! Since then have been sleeping with cloths on! The rash went away but a few days ago got these raised skin bumps at the base of my penis on the scrotum! Also my scrotum is red . I have not had any sex for over a yr and a half now so std it shouldn't be, no sure what to try! It's been like this for four days now and hasn't gotten better or worse!??
Brief Answer:
Likely to be Idiopathic

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Sir
Sudden appearance of rash associated with redness of scrotum without any associated complaints like itching, the likely cause could be either Idiopathic Scrotal Oedema or Fungal infection. Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination.
It would be helpful if you could provide me clinical photograph for further assessment. Also kindly provide me with following additional information
1. Is there associated itching?
2. Is there any discharge ?
Awaiting your response
Take Care

No not really too much as far as itching, all tho the head of my penis seems to be a bit dryish looking but dosent itch! The pimple sized raised skin bumps at the base of the penis top of the scrotum seem to be maybe under the skin, they seem to go away when you stretch the skin, except for one that is a little more raised! Dosent reallyshow up well in the picture! But you can for sure see how red the scrotum is! Also no discharge!
Brief Answer:
Likely to be Idiopathic oedema
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
The pimple like lesion there is no cause to worry about, they are normally present in many individuals. It occurs due to inspissated secretions and sweat.
The redness of scrotum is likely to be Idiopathic Scrotal oedema/Angioneurotic oedema. It is important to differentiate it from scrotal cellulitis.
I would suggest you to consult your Physician for thorough examination. In the meantime local application of calamine lotion will be helpful.

Brief Answer:
Pimple like lesion no cause for concern
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
As previously mentioned the pimple like things there is no cause for concern, they are due to retained secretion.
Regarding redness of scrotum, it is most likely to be due to Idiopathic scrotal oedema. It would be difficult to differentiate it from Cellulitis, so would suggest you to consult Your Physician for further assessment.

Sorry ya wasted my last question with you and sent my previous question again! Just wanted to say that im not sure about itching but the scrotum area feels really raw and almost pinchy feeling at times plus my right testicle seems to be rather tender! Would this point to either of the two you described that it might be? Also how long is it normal for the raised skin bumps to last, will hydrocortizone cream help with the healing to clear them up?
Brief Answer:
Consult your physician
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Sir
As you mentioned there is pain in Testis, it is also important to rule out possibility of Epididymoorchitis (inflammation of Testis ) as the cause
Hydrocortisone cream is unlikely to be helpful in this case
As diagnosis depends on thorough clinical examination, I would suggest you to consult your Physician at the earliest.
Wishing you great Health
