Suggest Treatment For Rashes On Rectal Area Of An Infant

Question: My 5 days baby got broken skin/rashes around rectal/anal area due to repeated cleaning. One doctor verbally heard the issue and suggested Siloderm ointment. What to do ?

Please note that the age of the Baby is 5 Days only.

Hello

Thanks for the query

I have gone through the image.
Siloderm ointment contains Zinc oxide and calamine(skin healing and soothing agent),dimethicone(relieves pain),cetrimide(prevents secondary infection).
It is a very good ointment for local application in babies(even in 5 days old)in perianal area.
Apart from application of this ointment I would like to give you few tips like
1)Change the diaper frequently
2)Keep the area dry
3)Clean the area with gentle XXXXXXX avoid rubbing
4)Use baby napkins if possible
5)Keep the area open for few minutes so that the skin can breath and it also helps in keeping the area dry

I hope with all these measures the lesion will subside.
