Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Chest While On Benadryl
Question: Hi, last week I was helping a friend move, into a new home. We were around a lot of dust, construction dust, paint, etc. The next morning or 2 after, I developed a rash on my chest, and some on my back, right below the nape of the neck, wherever my skin was exposed. (I was wearing a tank top). I have been using Hydrocortisone and taking Benadryl for 3 days. which seems to help. It's not itchy all the time, but it seems to become more irritated at night, right after I take a shower. It seems to be a little better in some areas, but I'm not sure how long I should wait before I see a doctor.
Brief Answer:
Either photosensitive rash or eczematous rash, continue cortisone cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your history and according to me it is either photosensitive rash or an eczematous rash due to dust and paint.
If you are noticing improvement with hydrocortisone cream you can continue with it.
For itching apart from benedryl you can also take tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
If the rash worsens or itching increases then you need to go for potent topical steroids and consult a doctor for getting the same.
